About 6 months ago, as I continued my foray into making my home smarter, I realized there was a gap in comfort and ease-of-use especially after switching over to so many Philips Hue lights and TP-Link Kasa smart outlets. I had a couple of ceiling fans that were controlled via RF-based remote controls. There had to be a way to make these smarter, or to consider replacing my existing fans with smarter ones.
After doing some research, I landed on the Olibra BOND Home Smart Ceiling Fan Controller. This little device connects to your WiFi network and can broadcast IR and RF for ceiling fans and eventually other devices. It was a far better and much more cost-effective solution without having to replace any ceiling fans.
During setup, I created a YouTube video which outlines the set up process and the functionality I was able to gain with it. If you haven't seen it, please check that out (and subscribe!) here:
I'm happy to report that 6 months later, the BOND controller has been working very well and I definitely recommend the setup to make your ceiling fans smarter and controllable via app or voice assistant.
